Valentine's Day - The day of love.

Valentine's day is almost there. We all know that February has long been celebrated as a month of romance.Now a day valentine's symbol include the heart shapeed outline,doves and the figured of the winged cupid.Valentine's Day is recognized as a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance in many regions around the world, although it is not a public holiday in any country.

There are different stories for Valentine's Day. There is no evidence of any link between St. Valentine's Day and the rites of the ancient Roman festival Lupercalia.

Valentine's Day is an  originated from a Roman Festival known as Lupercalia, According to historians. In Ancient Rome, Lupercalia, observed February 13–15,celebrated to avert evil spirits and purify the city, releasing health and fertility.


Valentine of Rome was a priest in Rome who was martyred in 269 A.D. Saint Valentine is a priest who was beheaded by Emperor Claudius II for helping Christian couples wed.Emperor Claudius II  had banned marriage as he thought single men made better soldiers. Valentine felt this was unfair, so he broke the rules and arranged marriages in secret. When the emperor found out he was thrown in jail and sentenced to death. There, he fell in love with the jailer's daughter and when he was taken to be killed on 14 February he sent her a love letter signed "from your Valentine".

Some believe that Valentine's Day's is celebrated mid-February to mark the anniversary of St Valentine's death.
